PADI Open Water
PADI Open Water Scuba Diver is the entry level certification needed to begin diving Anywhere There’s Water. We will focus on buoyancy, risk assessment, dive planning, and how to react to the most probable stressful situations. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to safely dive in many water conditions; however, you will need additional training to dive in caves, deep depths, and other challenging conditions.
Open Water is divided into two courses for your convenience.
Course 1 – Confined water consists of 3 evenings of class followed by a weekend of diving in a pool. The weekend days are half day pool sessions and half day classroom sessions. This confined water class is designed to challenge the students in a safe controlled environment so that each new diver will be better prepared for diving in open water conditions.
Price: Option 1 $300 includes class materials, rental equipment, pool fees and air
Rental does not include personal equipment (mask, snorkel and fins). You are responsible for providing this equipment. See note below *
With new learning options from PADI we can compress this schedule to just one weekend. If you would like further information on the alternate schedule, please use the contact link on this page or give us a call.
Option 2 $320 broken into two payments; $200 to ATW includes rental equipment, pool fees and air + $120 to PADI includes E-Learning option.
Course 2 – Open water consists of one weekend of 4 dives. We like to do our certification dives at Dutch Springs in Pennsylvania because it is the best student diver experience in the area. We can also conduct the course at Brownstone Quarry in Portland, CT, Jamestown, RI or other locations if the class is interested. You will also have the option of taking a referral from us at this point and completing your course with another PADI organization in a warmer climate such as Cozumel or similar destination. For further information on referrals please use the contact link on this page or give us a call.
Price: $200 rental equipment and air. $35 certification card fee
Price does not include any park fees or travel related costs at the open water destination.
*ATW is affiliated with New England Dive Center in Wallingford, CT. New England Dive center provides a classroom and rental equipment.
