Within the world of photography there are schools of thought ranging between the "purist" and the "impressionistic artist". Purists don't believe in altering photos with software after the shot was taken while some artists will change the color and structure of the photo so much, you would not recognize it as a photo at all. As an amateur I find myself somewhere in the middle. The photos in my galleries are enhanced with Photoshop to correct color issues, backscatter and other problems associated with underwater photography. As I improve, I hope to use less software; regardless I see value and art in all the forms of photography.
